You are correct, however, according to the dealer, the factory told them to go to 10 amp fuses. The Thetford manual does not specify the amperage for the fuses and it appears to be intentional on their part. I plan to call the factory myself to confirm before the next trip out. Now back to the toaster-ovens.

I have the checklist laminated and ready to go. One thing that bothers me is that the factory doesn't seem to know much about their product if they told you to try going through the top and see if that worked. As they put the unit in they should know how to acess the plug. I would have thought they would check everything before shipping to the dealer. Wonder what the sticker that says OK to ship means?

The info about switching to a higher amperage fuse has been on this forum for some time now. I first saw the discussion in early 2002. I changed to a 10 amp fuse then. I believe the original recommendation was to go to 7.5 amps (if such exists), but can't confirm. It's just stuck in my memory.

I'm going to open up the stove top to get to the recepticle and figure out what's going on before the week is over. I'll keep you posted. If I get it fixed, I may do my first modification and turn that recepticle around so that the outlet will be exposed inside the cabinet next to the stove. That will give an extra outlet as well if it is ever needed.

Perhaps I missed your answer. Did you confirm that the circuit breaker is switched on? One of the black circuit breakers (I think there are four of them, but maybe 5) inside the metal housing near the floor, probably outside the bathroom. It can be hard to tell by eye, so move each breaker to the off position, then return it to the on position.

For this issue, ignore the 9 or so colored plastic fuses, which are located in the same box. They control only the 12 v dc circuits.

Yes. I did check the circuit breakers. I believe I clicked them all off then back on. However, before I go into the stove, I'll triple check.

My microwave is fine. The electrical outlet for the microwave is bad. I triple checked the circuit breakers before troubleshooting. >

Once the 4 screws for the oven are removed, it can be moved slightly to access the microwave plug without having to disconnect any gas line.

Now, I have no idea where the electrical disconnect is.

ccc6588,
You may not need my suggestion, but here it is anyway... since your unit is new and under warranty, have the dealer fix the electrical problems. Once that circuit is working as it should, then make your modification to relocate the outlet.

You may void the warranty for this problem if you make the mod first.

Take care and enjoy your new "toy." ;D
