Shell support rubber pads

The rubber pads on top of the frame are being cut in half by the shells when closed for travel
Have not taken many trips but one from La to North Carolina
I plan to replace the pads but does anyone have a better pad that will support the weight and not hurt the shell?
Do you buy the new pads from the factory or can you make your own?

I'm sure you could make the pads. I had new ones installed at the factory when my unit was there for other repairs.

Thanks for the reminder - I need to replace mine too. I'll call the factory to see what they want for them, and I'll post the price here when I find it out.

I doubled the life of my pads by turning them over & rotating 180 degs., then tapering the edge to fit. Works for me!

There are 4 pads - two in the front and two in the back - which the shells rest on when closed.

I called Trailmanor factory and parts guy is out till next week and I need to fix the pads this weekend
we have a local supply house that has thick neoprene 36 in and 48 in wide- I'll measure the thickness and width of the pads and buy a long strip so I can make many replacements
will let you know the cost and how it goes

Sounds like you have solved the problem, so I will simply point out that they can be purchased from the factory - Adam handled my order earlier this summer quite quickly. [email protected]

These pads do eventually deteriorate from the pressure of the shell bearing down on them, and the simultaneous back-and-forth scrubbing movement as the shell moves a little as you drive. You could release a bit of the pressure by loosening the corner latches a couple turns. If too tight, they tend to smash the shell down into the pads, which is not necessary.

I just got off the phone with Adam at the factory and he is sending me four shell pads for $11.52 plus $7.00 UPS Ground shipping.
