Default A/C fan on low & high cool dial

I have an 2008 2720 with an RVP Suburban rooftop A/C unit 9202-876. When I’m running on low or high cool mode the fan is always on. I can hear and feel the compressor turning on and off , and feel the cool air. Everything is working fine.
My question is this. The fan never shuts off and on with the compressor even when the dial thermostat temperature is reached. If the cool mode is on, then the fan runs constantly. Is the fan supposed to shutoff and on in the cool modes???? Or is it designed to run the fan constantly??? Thanks for the help.

The fan always stays on that's normal...the ac compressor will cycle on and off.

I think it is designed run the fan constantly. After all, in order to know when cooling is needed, the unit needs to know the temperature of the air in the room. The only way it can determine room air temp is to be exposed to room air - in other words, it has to blow some room air across the thermostat, which is inside the housing. Otherwise, it is simply sensing the pool of air trapped inside the air conditioner, which is probably not at room temp.

Thanks for the information. I thought that was the case since everything is working fine. But it’s good to ask and make sure it’s not malfunctioning with the fan blowing all the time.

This is strange. On our 2005 TM, the fan cycles off with the compressor; the unit seems to work just fine, we have no issues with the AC, and we camp a lot in our home state (Florida). Have not pulled out the manual lately, but I believe our AC is the same type of unit.
