Awning

My TM doesn't have an awning. I would like to add one. Do you need any additional support or can you just bolt it through the side wall?

Hi Kurt and welcome to the TM Forum,

The fiamma awning is attached with adhesive caulking and screws. The awning costs about $800, but is not the sturdiest one I've seen. We use it, but are careful not to use it when there is much wind. We bring an EZ Up with us and use it more often than the awning.

Are parts available ? Left it up in a minor Forida rain and came back to find one leg on the ground and the joint in the center of the extension arm sheared (still in place & could roll back up all but about a 1/2"), seems like an internal spring holding together but about 50% disjointed.

The awning that TM uses is mounted above the roof line using angle aluminum on ours; it is caulked at the bottom. A very weak system to say the least.

Have just been told by Fiamma (here in Orlando) that to repair my awning will be about $300 in parts plus the new awning material since the 3" tear is at the front bar.

What alternatives are available. Would like something sturdy enoungh to handle typical Florida weather (other than himmicanes) and ability to make a screen room would be a plus.

Opinions and ideas are welcome.
