Default Vinyl flaps torn

Picked up my 3 month old 2008 TM 3124KS from servicing today, checked the minor repair list (fridge ignition gauge faulty, door frame out of square, dead unchargeable battery and a few odds and ends).

Opened her up when I got home and found that the technician had gotten the vinyl/velcro flap caught between the front and rear shells (this is the flap that is along the front shell to the right of the door as you enter the trailer). There were several tears in the vinyl, small but conspicuous.

I called the dealer just to get this documented now (an hour after I picked it up) rather than get into a squabble next time with them claiming that user-caused damage was not covered. Color me frustrated.

Anyhow, any better solutions for temporary repair than duct tape? Will the whole strip have to be replaced with a new one?

This is interesting and I will watch to see what is posted. Maybe...you could fix it with a vinyl repair kit. One of my son's friends used to have a business to repair leather and vinyl....

Just thought of this...probably very dumb idea or maybe very clever? How about the shelf paper that is sticky on one side. It is vinyl and seems durable. If you could get it flat you would have the positive of a large numbe of cutsy patterns to choose from!

Default Vinyl flaps torn

Rich in Tampa,

Did you ever get your vinyl replaced....I just bought a 2006 3126KS and the dealer (non-TM) did the same thing but before I bought it so I need to repair or replace as well.

Yes, they ordered it under warranty, replaced it, and requested the torn one be returned, which we did. No problem, quick do-it-yourself job.
