Default Refrigerator fan air flow while on 12VDC

I recently replaced the 12VDC fan that helps draw the heat from the back of the fridge when the TM is closed up. I've read a lot of the threads concerning this operation and I'm confused about which direction the fan should be blowing air. Should it be drawing air from the bottom and blowing upwards? Or, should it be blowing down through the bottom opening.

You want the air to be pulled from the the top of the compartment and dumped out the bottom. The intent is to suck out the hot air.
