Default Removing the fridge.

Well, I just purchased a 1994 3023 and the fridge doesn't make cold. On propane I can hear the ammonia gurgling. Service tech says it's probably a goner (based on my description, he hasn't seen it). He said I might try removing it and flipping it over to break any locks in the line. This seems like a monumental undertaking. I have removed the rear access panel. How do I get this thing out? Any other advice or comments about my problem are welcome.

Default Refrigerator

Jeff,

We also just purchased a 94 3023 and the tech told us the refrigerator is bad - amonia smell inside. I have priced them new at about $700 - $800 depneding on where you look on the internet. I am looking at a Norcold N300 (the refrigerator in the new TM's). I believe there is an access panel on the outside of the TM that will let you look at the back of the refrigerator. Hope this helps,

S & L

You might also want to let the refrigerator set up for 24 hours. I was told it takes that a long time for the refrigerator to get cold.

Does that Norcold fit into the same rough opening as the stock dometic?

It was 43 degrees here in Maine last night. My fridge was warmer than my living space!

I think the fridge comes out toward the inside.

It obviously does, but I wonder about reaching the bolts that hold it in place and any connections to the fridge that must be considered. As far as I can tell, it is a 2-way fridge.

To remove the refrig. from the trailer, Remove the screw on top of the hinge on the door. Remove the door. Remove the screws into the cabinet around the frame. Disconnect the wires and propane in back. The unit will slide out to the inside of the trailer.

Default Ordered new fridge

Oredered a new Dometic RM2354 from Palimino Parts(800-297-5830). $500 + $75 shipping. Local prices were $200 higher.

Default Palamino

Jeff,

Who did you talk with at Palamino (if you remember)? I called about the same unit and was quoted $600 and was going to pick it up. Thanks,

S & L
