Default The California Gold Country

We just came back from a few days at Willow Creek Campground near Camptonville on highway 49 in the Sierra foothills. Very nice and quiet this time of year. The campground (25 sites and cabins,) are along a creek that has big granite boulders that are perfect to sit on and relax. It's all under conifers and oaks, and the owners have a few llamas to talk to and feed.

This is a private campground, but there are many federal non-hookup campgrounds all along the Yuba River that are beautiful as well. Fun shopping in nearby Downieville.
