Thanks for the advice, Ed-n-KEL. We are planning Smoky Mountain trip first, then Key West, Arkansas and New England over the next couple years, don't think those will have too high of elevations other than SM and already plan to camp at bottom. Hopefully we will be ready to tackle longer trips after that. These were our retirement destinations in three to four years plus cross country to Alaska but bad job market forced my husband to retire early so watching the pennies much closer now, not sure we will make the last trip. Also the reason we have low budget to purchase TM but saw 1997 that looks in pretty good shape so want to take trip to check it out soon if still available.
