Default Trailmanor Shipping

Currently looking to upgrade my PUP to a TrailManor 3214KB. In my part of the country (Minneapolis), TrailManors are incredibly scarce. I have my eye on a used one in CA, but would need to buy sight unseen and have shipped home. Anyone have experience with companies and what a reasonable price I should expect for a company to deliver it 2,000 miles? Any insights would be appreciated!

There was an extensive discussion of this topic a few years ago. It included discussions of the relative benefits of having it towed by someone with a pickup truck, having it carried on an open flatbed carrier, or having it carried in an enclosed truck. You might use the Search tool to find it. Meanwhile, if I run across it, I will post here.

EDIT: I think this is the one

Or, better yet, consider driving out to pick it up. If you really hustle, you could make it out and back in a week, and cruise through a bunch of areas that you will quickly realize you'll want to go back to visit in the TM. Plus, then you won't have to buy it sight unseen. I live in CA, and drove to TN to pick up mine. Very fun trip.

A week for CA to TN and back? Wow, did you sleep? That's harsh driving. I drove from Vancouver Canada to LA and I can tell you that I wouldn't want to drive that return trip in a week. Two weeks yes.

But it is possible, and I'd consider making the trip, but I'd think you could find something closer. East coast TM are usually less expensive too.

Default TM's near Minnesota

Jacob,
I don't endorse this search tool for RV's but it might help you find a TM
closer to your home. Plug in your zip code and a radius. Happy hunting.

I took longer for that trip, about 5-6 weeks. But I have driven cross-country in 3 days while towing, and wasn’t speeding. It just depends where you’re going obviously, since distances can vary significantly, and certainly whether you are sharing the driving (which I was). We basically did 12-hours on the road every day.

Certainly, if you have more time, that is much preferable.

OUCH! Sorry, I wouldn't be able to handle 12 hours. 8 hours is already a lot for me.

I can understand why JHallen might not want to drive that distance, at least going to fetch the trailer. I'd think coming back with the trailer would be fun, if you have the time.

This is probably true but if your patient, one will probably pop up nearby.

I bought ours just 50 miles north of you (outside of Cambridge, MN). Several months (a year?) ago there was one for sale in St. Cloud.

When I picked up our camper. I camped in it on the way back. There is no better felling than camping in your new camper on the way home.qq

Our first tm. The seller confirmed the tires were out of date. He agreed to have new tires of the brand I selected on it, so we would not need to worry. It was a little of 600 mile.
