So sounds like between $200 and $250 a year is about right (for $243 I have a $500 deductable).

BTW I also listed 30days/year camping which sounds about right for this stage of my life (not yet retired & single).

Before I moved from Pennsylvania to Florida by insurance cost were similar to Tentcamper. In Florida they are 2-3 times as much for less coverage. I talked to all the big insurance companies and while my cars ended up with AAA, my TM is with Allied through Good Sam. Geico was the biggest disappointment. They tried to tell me my TM was a "regular" travel trailer and insisted it did not fold. I asked them how then do I get it in my garage which only has an 8 foot door? They said they'd get back to me, I never heard from them again.
I liked Allied because in addition to the stated value ( which of course has to be within a reasonable range) they will provide an additional $1,000 worth of coverage for " special equipment" at not additional cost per se, which worked well for me since I added the Purple Line Enduro caravan mover system.

I thought about Fearrington when it first started but then family wanted to stay in Florida.

Seems like every one's experience is different, even in Florida. Think AAA just linked with Progressive & was using New Haven before. Had checked NH through AARP but was as expensive as Geico

Talked to Good Sam last year but as soon as I mentioned an accident (was rearended while stopped in traffic, rammer receved several citations & did not hit car in front as I tend to leave a bit of extra space) they lost interest.

Seem like every month it is different.

Ours Is $220 something.
The company said that in case of a loss of the TM that they would buy a brand new one. I never heard of such a thing, but the Ins. co. insisted that was the only way they would insure a Trail Manor. Anyone ever hear of that before?

Insurance is ratted using claim data for the area you live. I think the issue with FL is, there are to many claims. I think FL claims has to do with the RV population is older and there is a higher average value of RV's. So more claims are made to keep the high end RV's free of dings and the aging population dings them up more.

I know my FIL had no claims on their campers from the early 1960's, but about 35 years latter in the late 1990's. They were in their mid to late 70's. It seemed every other year it was being repaired. By the time they hit their 80's. I was offering to drive it to FL for the snow bird season and fly back and return to bring it back north. The DW just could not sleep with them on the road pulling the 31' trailer.

Maybeso but I find $243/year reasonable. OTOH paying as much for the $10k TM as for the $30k TV (TV also has 1/2 the deductable) seemed absurd particularly when the TM has no BI or PD. TV will always get there first.

Wow 40 years ago...that is when Fearrington started. To their credit they have done a great job in developing that Planned Community, but I still prefer FL☺️
