Took me about three months but I live in a "target rich" area.

In general the 2720SL seems to be the easiest to find. This is a good time to buy since few are using. Craigslist and RVTrader seem to have the most listings. RVTrader shows a 2720 (no slide) in Picayune, MS

Where to buy can be a dilemma since the best deals are from someone who does not know what it is. I bought mine from the "clearance" area of a leviathan dealer who took it in on trade. I was able to locate the PO and talk about it with him.

Not suggesting you are, but this is one purchase I would not "hurry." Make sure you know what you want and are comfortable with what you find.
Good luck!

It took me a little over four years to find the TM I wanted at the price I wanted to pay.

Patience grasshopper.

Sure, take your time to find what you want, I second that. But if you take years to do it, that's all time you can't be camping in a TM. If you are fine camping in a tent in the meantime, great. Otherwise, that's time you can not get back to build camping experiences and memories.

TM's aren't rare treasures that are needles in a haystack. They're a commodity just like cars. Rarer than cars, sure, so you might have to drive a ways to find one, but that's usually no big deal.

Not that rare and ones made this century are mostly still around. I'd guesstimate about 5000 since the wood frame went away (in comparison the total production of Vixens was about 500 and are not hard to find).

Be nice if the factory kept track of production numbers but may be a company secret. We do know that there were few years that expected to reach 500 units and the 2720 seems to be the most common model.

Thanks to all of you for your comments and encouragement. I cannot
say enough positive things about this great forum. Absolutely fabulous.
A TM owner here in Baton Rouge has contacted me about coming over to
his home and showing me his TM 2720. So I am planning on doing that very
soon.
As I told the TM owner, I am surely in the research and reading stage,
and may be there for a while. Unfortunately my wife's health is not the
best and that is my main concern for the time being. Nevertheless,
With this forums help, I am able to learn so much from all of you. My
new "game" is to find one going down the highway. About the first week
of June will be in the Gatlinburg area for about a week and will surely
be on the lookout there as I peruse thru some campgrounds.

Thank you all again very much and yes I plan on joining as a sponsor.

I agree, you can spend a long time to find the super deal. But what was the true cost of the super deal, if you lost good camping time and ran all over BFE to look at campers that sound like a super deal, but it turned out to be a POS. It took us about 6 months, but we still had our old camper to use. Figure out the model/years and features you want, plan that you will have to travel some distance to see it and haul it back. We planned a camping trip to see what TM's looked like at a dealer 200 miles away.

In our search for a used TM, we limited our self's to withing 600 miles from the house, and we found our camper about 600 miles away. You most likely will have to travel to buy a used one. Get a lot of pictures and have much conversations about the condition because you don't want to travel for an un-welcome surprise.
