Default fuses

where can i find fuses ?? the book says to buy littel fuses- type 257 and i cannot find them anywhere--- anyone bought fuses just to keep in case you need them ?? i thought about calling the trail manor place----- but the last time we ordered from them -- it was for 2 small screws that go in the draw latch -- it was $10 for postage ---- now that is not bad i guess cause i was not going to drive there and get them !!! But has anyone found fuses ?? Have already tried auto stores etc and the camping stores------

The fuses are located in the panel on the floor by the back bed. Release the little catch and the front tips down. Look there for the sizes you need. Most auto stores have them and maybe Walmart has them.

I always carry spares. Nothing like camping somewhere and needing a fuse in the middle of nowhere.

There also may be a fuse in the battery compartment that you should have a spare for. If it goes and you are on battery you need one right now!

You might as well pick up a spare bulb for the ceiling lights.

It's a standard ATO automotive blade fuse. Fast acting rather than slow burn.
Every auto parts store carries them.

They may think there is some special camper fuse (and frankly, I'm surprised there isn't!). But if you take the old one to any auto parts store, you'll be able to buy a replacement. If it helps, tell them it's for your car.

As long as you get the correct size and amp rating, a fuse is a fuse. You probably have several different amp rating fuses in your TM, so be sure to get spares for each, including the one on the battery. Others who have posted are correct...there is no such thing as a camper specific fuse. Pep Boys and many other similar stores carry a wide selection. Once you get a selection of spares, Murphy's Law states that you will never blow another fuse!

my 2720 uses 7.5, 5.5 and 20 amp fuses. They are standard automotive type. You can get them at Radio Shack too

Tom -

What an odd assortment of fuses! Have you checked the manual? My 2006 2720SL uses 15 amp fuses almost exclusively. The exceptions are two 7.5 amp fuses (TV and monitor panel). The main fuse at the battery (which should be changed to an automotive blade-type fuse if it hasn't been changed already) is a 30-amp fuse.
