Default Camping in the driveway

Because the central air on the house is dead, while we wait for my buddy who owns an HVAC company to be able to come by. Can't sleep in a house that's still 86*f even with 5 ceiling fans going and windows open.

I did the same thing after Hurricane Ike when we lost power. I pulled out my Trailmanor from garage, cranked up my portable generator and we had A/C Luckily, I had bought a 30amp 25ft extention cord for my RV. I secured my generator to a post in the backyard. I almost felt guilty since I only heard one other generator running in the neighborhood. Slept nice and cool

We also did that after Hurricane Ike when our part of Houston had no power for almost a week! Our generator powered the trailer AC (when needed - right after the storm it wasn't very hot) and the fridges in the house - the essentials! We cooked on a gas stove on a table in the driveway.

The use of a generator and camping trailer to stay comfortable after a storm knocked out power for so long is such a smart idea. It's definitely a good feeling to at least have the essentials taken care of until the utilities can be restored. I bet it brought some comfort and normalcy to the situation to be able to cook a meal outdoors together too.
