Swing Hitch Question
I've looked around the forum for guidance on "how works the swing hitch" and have yet to find it.
Our recently purchased 2000 2619 has the swing hitch option, but I can't figure out how to safely deploy, and I would hate to drop it on my toe!
Thanks in advance,
Paul and Donna

There are two large pens on each side of the hitch frame about 10 inches behind the hitch. They have a wire on a V shaped hook that runs through the pen. The wire runs to a safety pen underneath the hitch frame. You just pull out the safety pen and pull up on the wire to pull out the large pen going through the frame. You would pull the pen on the left side (facing TM) to swing the hitch to the right. You can pull out both pens to remove the entire hitch but be careful it is heavy.

Make sure that your front corner jacks are down and that you have cranked the tongue jack enough that the weight on the tongue jack has been removed.

I thought about the front jacks last night after I went to bed. POPbeavers thanks for pointing out a very important part of the swing hitch, I forgot to state.

In some model years, only one pin could be pulled - I think the one on the left. The other, which is identical, was set solidly.

Thanks for the great responses. I had seen the pins and just knew that playing around with them was likely a very bad idea...
I hope that the front corner jacks issue didn't interfere with your sleep, freein05!
Appreciate this fine forum,
