Voltage to exterior porch lights

We have a son who has a Master's Degree in electrical engineering. He works on instrumentation for nuclear power plants. He had to go to San Diego to fix a grounding problem last week. If I don't figure it out soon, I'm going to drag him out to our house to solve the problem. I will post a pic of that old work box with all the splices before I redo it. It will provide some amusement, at least.
