Default Water heater switch broken

Any ideas on how to replace? The rocker switch to turn on/off the electric rocks, but does not stay. Am I going to have to pull the water heater out in order to replace this? I am trying to avoid this, but don't want to have to run on propane forever...

Those are press in switches, with little tabs that have to be pressed to release. You might get lucky and dig it out with a screw driver, which will destroy the switch, but more likely you will have to remove the water heater.
They are usually pretty easy to get out.

Try breaking/cutting off the the bottom of the frame of the switch( about 1/8") then stick a thin screwdriver or piece of rigid metal in to compress the top and bottom tabs and the switch should come out. Connect wires to the new switch and push in. Here is a link to photos of what the switch looks like so you can better understand how it mounts and how to get it out. http://images.search.yahoo.com/searc...+rocker+switch
