Default New to the site

Hi, I am new to the site from Pennsylvania.
Sorry if I posted this introduction at the wrong place. I looked and couldn't find a place for an introduction.
We haven't found our TrailManor yet but we are looking. I thought this site could help in our search. We have an idea what we want but since we are buying used and don't want to spend more than $10,000 we might have to wait a while for the right one to be available to us. I'm thinking, bigger is better. Looking for a 3124.
We are pop up (tent trailer) owners at this time and had a small travel trailer before that. We like the pop up so much that we decided an upgrade should be to a TrailManor. They are light enough that our Ford Ranger should handle it and will not take up a lot of room on the back yard.
Any help I can find on this site will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Skiball and welcome to the TM forum.

The size of trailer you want depends on your needs and the number of people camping.

A 3124 is probably going to be more trailer than your Ranger can handle. If you get most of the options that TM's come with, AC, awning, two propane tanks and you load it with 20 to 40 gallons of water & your camping gear, the trailer will weigh close to 5,000 pounds or more, with a tongue weight of close to 600 pounds. A Ford Ranger won't safely tow that much trailer.

You should look at a smaller model, one that will hopefully suit your needs and your TV.(tow vehicle). Good luck in your search.

Hi, have you searched here for used? I have found the 2720 to be enough ,also in 4000 lb range and may be a better choice for your tow vehicle?
Good luck and welcome from NE Ohio

The 2720 would be a better choice for you. I looked up the towing capacity on a 4.0 L Ranger and if you use a WDH (weight distributing hitch) on a class III minimum receiver, have the tow package with a 7 pin bargman connection and use an electric trailer brake, a 2720 can be safely towed with your TV.

Welcome, you found the right spot for help and information.

We spent about 6 months looking for our 2720 with the two bunkends. We ended up traveling about 600 miles to pick it up in February of this year. When you find a good one you have to move fast.

We had TT's too and we were camping in a popup when we decided to get the TM. We liked the popup because we could tow it with out minivan and store it in the garage. Last year the DW started having an issue with the cold draft off the canvas in our early spring camping and we do a lot of early spring and late fall camping. We like TM for the same reasons as the popup and that it has insulted sides and higher cabinets.

We have been out camping with the TM only 13 nights so far. So we don't have a lot of experience. All is well and we like the camper, and we would buy a TM again.
