Great fix that was Ed to overcome the problem with the bracket interference and I think you are right what you say about the chain length. It has been awhile since I installed my Anderson, but I seem to recall about the only 2 links shortening. I had to lengthen mine by one link to keep the brackets away from interference. Mine is a regular 2720 without the slideout.

Shane826, I started to have that noise problem too in the second year of towing. I don't hear it with regular driving and only get the groaning noise in tight turns. I think that is the anti sway sleeve in the head that causes this. I never bothered to call Anderson about this as it only happens when maneuvering the TM.

Yep I had the same noise in turns. They said it’s from moisture between the aluminum ball shank and friction cone...

Bill- Here’s a couple videos; first shows how the Andersen works vs traditional spring bars, second shows how the Andersen overcomes a lot of the “complaints) of a traditional WDH.

Here’s a third party, average Joe style review:

https://campaddict.com/andersen-weig...-hitch-review/

To anyone with an Andersen WDH, there has been a bit of a redesign (again).

You’ll see a lot of people on a lot of RV forums say the Andersen can’t possibly work. Read a little further, they’ve never used one. I’ve only ever read about one person who bought the Andersen WDH and couldn’t get it dialed in. He was given a full refund. Everyone else I’ve spoken to that has used it, loves it.

Default HitchGrip

Just an aside, but I use a HitchGrip to install and remove the WD hitch on my TV. It works great and makes the hitch easier to carry. Easily to found on the internet.

Thanks for the info Shane about the noise problem. I will probably just pop the shank out this spring and clean up the sleeve and shank, making sure that there is no moisture or dust on the surfaces. The noise can be a little annoying at times. Thanks again.

They told me to clean the shank, housing, and friction cone with rubbing alcohol. Seemed to do the trick. There are videos online about how to take it apart and put it together.

I get the hitch noise too. I also have linked it to the anti-sway cone. Mine will groan very loudly after a panic stop upon accelerating up again. First I thought it was my TV brakes, but no, it is the hitch. It requires turning the radio 2 notches louder :-)

I have a '20 2720 QB with swingtongue. I have installed a Fastway e2 trunion WDH with sway control. This WDH solved the problem of the swingtongue hinge interference. The recommended installation distance between the coupler and the WDH trunion support attachments is 31" which puts them comfortably between the swingtongue hinges and the propane support crossbeam. (This is the main reason I am posting about them - that they fit within the complications added by the swingtongue.)

I had to lower the trunion supports one notch below recommended initial installation point to ensure the trunions did not interfere with the swingtongue hinge pins. In spite of this I have been able to get my WDH setup to correctly work for two different tow vehicles:
2011 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SV 4WD
2020 GMC Sierra Crew Cab AT4 4WD (yay! i upgraded)

The Fastway e2 trunion WDH comes in at least three different max load options. I went with middle-of the road 800 lb max tongue weight, 8000 lb max trailer weight. 600/6000 and 1000/10000 are also options.

I've been happy with the WDH so far. But I did manage to pull my breakaway braking wires out of the breakaway switch housing when opening the swingtongue. I believe the wire harness caught on the WDH trunion supports which prevented it from moving as the tongue moved.

I am getting a similar setup as yours, which model of Andersen Hitch do you have? I am getting a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd 4x4 with towing package (no 3rd row) and a 2010 Trailmanor 2720 SL, trying to figure out which hitch model I should order for our maiden trip when we pickup the TM 600 miles away. All I kow is that then TM has a 2 inch receiver coupler.

I used the hitch for 5 years and the changed over to a Anderson hitch on my brothers recommendation, as he was using the Anderson on his TM. I never looked back. The Anderson hitch total weight is 60 lbs. The head also holds the antisway device. Since I was not getting any younger lugging that 100 lb Blue Ox head around was getting to much for me. Look up the Anderson Hitch on their website and they give you a great explanation as to how it works. Good luck with your TM.

If your TM has a 2” ball (98% chance it’s 2” but verify with current owner), you should want the 3324 model Andersen WDH (2” ball, 4” drop/rise)... That's what I have and it’s worked with my GMC Envoy and Ram 1500 pulling my 2007 3326. I think they all have the same size shank.
