Here's pictures of my 40 gallon tank. I highlighted the makes on the size of the water tank for easy reading.

Thanks for the photos. Interesting that the inlet for the 20 vs the 40 is different, you would think from a standardization point of view they would keep the inlet/pump/plumbing locations the same and just swap out the tank. Maybe that's what they do now, but from an engineering/cost standpoint, the more standard you can make something, the cheaper it is.

Keep in mind if you decide to change to a forty, the tongue weight with full tank increases by a bunch, all is forward the axle. 160 lbs. extra?

The guy that had special ordered our 2922KB had asked for a 20 gallon freshwater tank. When we bought it (the original orderer ended up not taking delivery of it), we asked Custom RV to put back the original 40 gallon, and I think it was pretty straight forward. You can see some of my early posts where I was having a little difficulty getting water in the freshwater tank without it spilling out of the opening. I don’t know if that’s because of the swap out, but otherwise, it’s been fine (I figured out a way to sort of close off the opening while filling to fix that leaking problem). Ours was in the dinette seat too like the pictures are showing.

Looks like 17x22x23 to me. That would be 37G

The bigger tank goes under a couch on the QB/KB models and the smaller tank usually winds up inside a cabinet in the kitchen on the slide models since there can’t be anything in that space where the slide comes in. But yeah I bet if they could standardize the inlet, they would.

If I ever figure out how to convert my 3326 from KS to KB I’ve thought about adding the 40 gallon tank and piggybacking it with the 20 gallon tank that’s already there for some serious capacity.

You would need a bigger grey tank then. Where does it end?

Ha! I had that thought too. That’s where a bigger toter comes into play… Right now I just have the über-basic Thetford 12 gallon toter that’s just big enough to empty the SeaLand toilet.
