Default Multiple ongoing Leaks Elkmont 2010

Bought Elkmont in 3/2010. We posted in 12/10 about our first two leaks in the 2010 Elkmont. Near door, carpet soaked near door and in front of bedside table and quarter round molding wet. TrailManor approved repair. Caulk replaced on roof, carpet dried out. Got an email from Bob a new owner at this point saying he was interested in helping get the repairs done. Also he was working to turn the company around.

February 15, 2011 we found a LARGE amount of mold and multiple leaks, eg, wardrobe and bedside table on door side veneer stained wet, back of bed along front of trailer saturated with water and stained. Carpet wet in multiple places. Also water damage/stains on wood panel where the media controls are. Again, No specific leak was found. Just to name some of the repairs: All the windows were removed and resealed. One window was switched out with a brand new window. Caulk resealed again. Bed was removed this time (mold and wet behind bed along the front of the trailer., bedside tables veneer replaced, carpet replaced, panel around media control replaced. We got the trailer back three months later after the repair place worked with TrailManor in getting replacement parts and doing the copious repairs. TrailManor communicated with the RV repair place. Ed Lytle. We picked up the trailer the middle of May.

After getting the Elkmont back home repacking in hopes of finally using this $24,000 rig we found a new area of water damage in a brand new place. The back of the trailer under back of the bunk/storage area was wet and wood stained with water. Once again we had it into the shop, of course they can not locate the leak. "Water could be coming in anywhere or maybe left over from previous leak" is what we were told. The damaged wood was replaced while we waited this time. TrailManor communicated with the RV repair place.

We emailed Ed and Bob from TrailManor and received no reply.

We are very frustrated and have NO confidence in this Trailmanor Elkmont.

Yes so far TrailManor has approved repairs but we were without the TT for months and it has caused us insurmountable stress.

Anybody know a buyer who would buy a year old Elkmont with this kind of history, multiple leaks and water damage? What kind of financial loss are we going to incur?

I wish I had known what TrailManor knew at the time I bought this Elkmont that they had a quality control problem with leaks and defective caulk.

First time TT owners and it's been a nightmare!

Ouch.

Our roof leak problems (2010 Elkmont around the Door and Bathroom vent) wasn't fully resolved until a trip to factory. Also we were using it a lot, so any water coming in was mopped up quickly and didn't cause much damage.

There was also a plumbing leak in the back that was easily fixed.

No leak problems since the factory fix last fall, and that includes our trip to Florida and back and some very heavy rains.

The 2010's certainly can have some problems. And the constant dribbling of a leaky trailer can really be stressful. But once (if?) fixed up, they're really nice.

Good luck.
