Default Broken Window

Just finished our first 1,800 miles from Grand Rapids, MI to Bozeman, MT. We took an easy pace. We avoided Interstates. Went North through the Upper Peninsula of MI, then took 2 across WI, MN, ND, MT. Had a relaxing trip. However, yesterday while traveling on these back roads there was a 20 mile stretch where the pavement had been stripped off and it was a gravel road. A rock hit the front front shell door side window and it splintered. Looks like a web. I did not see that this had happened before.

Default shattered window

It is 11 x 21 or a little bigger. It is a 2006 2720 TM.

Are these easy to find? What is the best way to remove them?

Oh I’m talking the whole window. Should be roughly 25x22?

Removal is easy. Remove the screws and inner frame. Push the window outward while a buddy is ready to catch it. It will take some muscle, it’s glued in pretty solid. If that doesn’t work you’ll have to use a utility knife to cut the adhesive then pop it out.

Are they common? TM stopped using Hehr windows a few years back (they use Statewide windows now) and I don’t know if Hehr still makes the windows or offers parts. If you remove that inner frame you should find a paper tag with a code that is about a thousand characters long. They’ll need that code to look up parts. After that I’m not sure what is involved in disassembling the window to replace the glass.

These guys did a good job explaining how to measure and remove the window.

Haven't even started yet. I'll get to it tomorrow before it gets too warm. I'm going to see if I can replace the broken slider. I'll let ya know tomorrow how it went.

Shane; I replaced my door window with the bathroom door I bought from Shane. It was easy, I did have to pry it out just a little and made sure I did not puncture/dent the door skin, which is easy if your not paying attention. I used a painters 7 in 1 tool, a rubber mallet and butyl tape from Home Depot. I bought a roll from CW and ended up tossing it, it was just horrible. As I unrolled it, it kept sticking; which isn't bad, but then it just stuck to the wrong side of the paper.
I did have to straighten a couple sections of the inner ring, but it was in very good condition.
Since it was the bathroom window, I did flip it 180 degrees, drilled a couple of drain holes. Applied the butyl from HD, it was a night and day difference in how easy the HD tape went on.
The outside went into the hole with ease, the inner ring took a bit of persuasion. I had to tap one side with a rubber mallet and once popped in, I installed a few screws loosely, then went back and snugged them in a random criss cross pattern. I'll retighten in a few days sitting in the heat to let the butyl set. I've got to scrape some seal that oozed out, but it works great.

Shane, I apologize if I offended you. That was NOT my intent at all. I even double checked the orientation of the window to the others on the curb side and it orientated correctly, but it is a street side window. Regardless, it works and that's the bottom line for me, wasn't planning on camping til it was replaced, so you've saved the remaining season for me.
