Default Mice update

It's been a month since I found mice in my camper. I took y'alls advice and used peppermint oil soaked cotton balls, Cab Fresh and Bounce dryer sheets. I do not see any signs of mice. The camper smells great. My sticky traps are empty. I also stuffed steel wool in any crevice or hole that I could find.

great.

I keep my camper in the garage. We do the bounce and peppermint, but I also put put down bait stations in each corner of the garage. In the fall they empty in a few weeks, but when I refill them they good until the next fall.

Steel wool rusts, and will probably fall out while you're on the road. You might try the "Great Stuff Pestblock" on top of it, or in it's place. Wear work clothes, it gets on your clothes and won't come out without acetone.

We have not so far had a mouse revisit, but IMO the most effective thing I did was to put screening over the refrigerator vents. We had a mouse living on top of the refrigerator and the vent holes had been chewed wider. I bent the screening to fit over the inside of the vent, and hot-melt-glued the edges of the screening to the plastic.

I bought the Fresh Cab and also two ultrasonic critter repellants. So far, so good. Sometimes when I go into the trailer I find a stray dropping, but I can't tell if they're new or I just didn't see it before. DH and I both got under the trailer and looked for entry points and couldn't find any.

The Fresh Cab makes the trailer smell really nice! We moved out to the trailer to cook this past weekend when our power went out (right in the middle of making won ton soup!) and it was nice and warm and cozy.

I agree with Bruce, the best thing we did was to put screen inside of the refrigerator and hot water vents. We also did that on the heater intake, will probable take that off if we ever use the heater. Used expandable foam around all drains. Cab and bounce drier sheets and baits on the inside. It's been a few weeks and no signs of mice. So much better than last year when we just got the unit and had no clue.
