Somewhere in the archives is a document (anyone know exactly where?) that tells the steps to go through in adjusting a WDH. The first part goes through the measurement process that Wayne explained so well. It is a really good primer on the subject of the effect a trailer has on braking/steering. If you transfer weight from the front wheels to the rear wheels it is a recipe for disaster, particularily with a front-wheel drive vehicle. This is really critically important and can't be emphasized enough. By the way, congrats on you new TV. The Ridgeline is really a terrific vehicle and I'm sure you will get years of enjoyment out of it.

It's in the Technical Resource Library (aka Trail Manor Information You Won't Find Anywhere Else) - the very first forum at the top of the Board.

You can find very good information on towing with a Honda Ridgeline by doing a search for the postings of "Dixielou". Go to the post titled "Questions on towing vehicle/TM model year" and go down midway on page 6 of this lengthly thread.

I bought a 2008 Ridgeline to tow our new 2008 TM 2619. I really like the Ridgeline for towing and general driving. I did put a WDH on it and I feel a lot safer when towing. I feel with a TM you do not need a sway control hitch. I have towed my TM many thousands of miles and swaying has never been a problem. Yes Honda does not recommend a WDH but some feel that the reason for this is that you could tighten it too much and damage the Ridgeline frame. I am careful and only tighten it enough to level the vehicle or just have a slit dip at the rear.
