What are people using to tow a 2720 Trailmanor(3100 lb. dry) - Page 10

We tow our 1988 27/20 with our 97 four runner...no problem,,it weighs about 3,500 dry weight...give or take a lb..

We tow a 2008 2720 TM with a 2008 Toyota Highlander, rated at 5000 lbs. tow rating. It has done fine over the "Grapevine" out of LA, but no serious mountain climbing yet. For mpg, I usually get 18-19 with a/c, but drop down to 16 mpg while towing on a level road, and 12 mpg going up hill.
The Highlander comes with a tow package so the engine temperature seems to do fine.

I am towing our 2619 with a 2005 Toyota 4Runner w/V6 engine. We travel throughout the Rocky Mountains and, yes, we have to tolerate 30mph speeds sometimes while climbing Colorado passes. Overall, while towing our TM, we get about 18mpg running at top speed of 65mph.

I just had my 4Runner in for service and was shown that i have a rear shock that has failed and a front strut that is leaking. Perhaps I should go to some heavier duty suspension components. Do any of you have any suggestions?

bilstein or ome. the stock ones are likely tokico which aren't too bad considering four years.

Beware that "Heavy Duty" and "Quality" are not the same same measurement. The wrong shock valving will give an uncomfortably stiff ride.

I tow without a WDH and found that the weight (close to max GRAWR) on the rear of my truck caused some bouncing issues. These shocks make the ride much more comfortable while towing without effecting the non-towing ride.

***I also have "Air-Lift" air-bags on my truck.
