Default Trip Report: 5 Weeks Western States = Trailmanor, Kids, Dog

Hello everyone! We're starting to pull together ideas for the upcoming summer, and it seemed like a good idea to review what worked and didn't work for us this past summer. We used this forum to get ideas and suggestions for our trip out west, and it turned out to be a great trip! We had five weeks, and we took our 2720 from Michigan with the following stops: Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Little Bighorn, Yellowstone, Tetons, Escalante, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, and Arches. We traveled with two adults, two kids, and our 80 lb. dog. The Trailmanor held up pretty well, but we did have some glitches with it (air conditioner failure, trying to dry camp, etc.).

It occurred to me we learned so much here last year that people planning trips might like to see how we handled the route, campsites, dog boarding, and the trailer. We kept a blog of our trip here:

http://roadtrippin.woelmer.com/2010/...out-west-2010/

We never went back and shuffled everything, so you do have to use the links on the left to navigate by month, but you should be able to find a specific park by the entry titles.

Our trip this year will be a little different because my husband is riding a (non-motorized) bike from Portland, OR to Washington DC with a group while the family provides trip support. I would like to spend about a week in Washington State or Oregon prior to the start of the trip, though, so if anyone has must-see suggestions out that way, I'd appreciate it!

Looks like you had fun, we spent 6 months on the road this year prior to getting our TM. Can't wait till this coming spring.
