Default Tilting the TM during outside storage

After a few very rainy days, I went out to play with the 3124 sitting in my driveway. I decided I'd tip it up a little to let some of the rain puddles run off the shell. Guessing I have it at about a 4" rise up front.

Lo and behold, about 4-5 minutes of water trickled out of the awning case and a few other places. If you live in Florida, you definitely do not want sitting water anywhere it doesn't belong (true everywhere, of course).

So, I think it may be best to always keep it tiled when stored in the driveway. Any harm to frame, jacks, fridge or anything else in doing so?

good advice...

Even set up, I first level it out then tip it back some to allow water to run off the back while camping.

As far as the awning goes, you always want to have one side higher than the other

I think you misread my post (or I wrote it unclearly): I'm talking about when the TM is closed up, higher at the tongue end than at the rear end, awning all rolled up. It's about water draining from the shell itself, not from the awning when opened.

But, i agree: when in use I always add some pitch to the awning.

Default Got it right

You're doing the right thing, by raising the front slightly, when not using your TrailManor. Otherwise, as you found out, there will be standing water.

Happy Camping!

It has been my observation that the TM roof is slightly high in the center and low at all four corners. This is true whether open or closed.

I store my TM in the garage, so it is not an issue for me. But when I wash it or when it rains all water runs off of the roof when I have it level.

If the front were low, then the water on the rear shell would run towards the roof seal with the front shell. That does not sound like a good idea to me.

When the awning is closed, then there is no way for water to get inside. The awning fabric will stay nice and dry in a rain storm as long as it is closed up. Only an open awning can get wet.

At least, that is how my TM behaves.
