Heating a TM with a wood stove

I am in the process of trying to rig up my slide-out with wood-stove heat. I may switch to another stove eventually, but I'm using one of those basic $50 powersport wood stoves you can find on ebay for the time being. With any luck, I'll be cutting the roof hole this weekend, but I'm still toying with a concept I used for heating a tent where I may be able to keep the stove outside to cut down on the wood-smoke smell inside. (if I can find a reasonable way to do it, I might go that route, but it requires enough space for a water reservoir and a small radiator with fans attached - I looked over a couple of places to try it last weekend but didn't come up with anything. I'm wondering now if I may be able to do it around the air conditioner using the lower area of the shelf next to the cabinet for the water reservoir somehow)

either way, I may have a more detailed report in the next few weeks on wood-heating an older trailmanor.

'Scuse me? A wood stove inside a TM? I can't wait to see this - I've never heard anyone even consider trying it.

Why?

The walls are foam ( which melts) sandwiched by aluminum. By the time you get sufficient clearance, the stove will be in the middle of the floor. OH yea you will need something on the floor as well.

Ok, how do you plan on regulating the temp? i would go with bigger heater buddy, long before I would even think of using a wood stove.

Seen wood stoves on boats and in Airstreams... The Dickinson Newport stoves are designed for that type of installation, not cheap though.

I have enough problems hauling wood for a campfire, then with many areas not allowing wood movement I'll use propane.....

I am Scots... I will use the campground electricity first!

We carry a couple of small electric space heaters and a Buddy heater, as well as having an on board furnace. I camped with my popup down into the teens more than a few times this way.

Impressive! Weighs only 12 lbs and small - 10 inches deep and 7.88 inches wide. Wood pellets are relatively light weight and easily transported. Still, even with the TM so well ventilated , I would be hesitant to have one in use while I slept.
