Default Interior Lights on TM

While replacing some of the interior bulbs I see I need to replace two light recepticles due to corrosion. Are the TM interior lights(complete light recepticle) available only from TM or can you purchase them from other sources? I would like them to match the originals.
Thanks

There are different kinds of lights in TM's, which ones do you want to replace? If I was going to bother with replacing an incandescent lamp I might choose something else, depending on location in the trailer. It also depends on what kind of camping you want to do, full hookups or none. I replaced three of our lights with fluorescent fixtures, but left the others alone as they are not used often, such as the rear bedroom ceiling light, the hall light, and the two "elegant" lights in the front. We use LED headlamps for reading at night, it's just a habit we've gotten into, even at home.

The original indoor incandescent light fixtures (the white dome lights used by TM) are very common items. Start with a Search for "dome light" at Camping World, and if that doesn't work, go to one of the big RV supply places like pplmotorhomes. For example, is this the one you are looking for?

Called Ed at TM this morning and ordered 3 @ $5 plus a few cents. I think that price is about as good as it gets for a single light and a absolute match.I really thought TM would be higher priced but Alas I was wrong. I priced new curtians and after I picked myself up off the floor I guess the price of $400.00 plus shipping is not so bad if you factor in time and materials, lack of sewing experience etc. Thanks for the answers to my question. The price was $5.00 each.

The curtain kit for my old Coleman was about $400 too. The big problem with some replacement "parts" is the infrequent, inconsistent, low quantity ordering that occurs with a specific item like a curtain kit. The curtains change colors and specifications over the years and all things considered, are custom made when needed years later. Sure TM pumps out units every day all of which have curtains but maybe the curtains needed for your model or my model are different, thus the manufacturer sees the replacements as a low quantity order.

I know I would never attempt to get the curtains made by a local company as long as the real-deal replacements are still available at the trailer manufacturer. Coleman use to only carry replacement curtains for seven years after the model expired.

I know you were not suggesting this but more often than not, good companies don’t gouge you on price if they don’t need to. Their reputation is on the line if they get proven that they gouge customers on replacements. From what I have seen so far on this forum, TM is VERY fair in replacement part prices whenever and wherever possible. A $5 light is a perfect example. Again, I know you didn’t suggest this but I just wanted to put others at ease. Dog gone curtains are expensive.

Rather than starting a new thread, this one seemed like a good one to post my request. I am looking to replace 2 of my interior dome lights. Multiple Internet searches have not been fruitful and the one or two I did find were much too expensive. If anyone on the forum has 2 used interior dome lights and is willing to sell them, please PM me.
Thanks,
Dick
