Default Trailmanor pulled by Ridgeline Weighed at Public Scales

Hello all,
I finally made it down to the public weigh scales to get a fixed reading on what I have been pulling.

I have a 2003 Trailmanor 2619 towed by my 2009 Ridgeline RT.

I loaded both up as if we were going camping. Also filled the 20 gal fresh water and put bike rack on back. Ridgeline had blue boy, BBQ Pit, bean bag game etc and 7 gal water jug full.

The scale person was really helpful and was able to get three readings; one with both, one trailmanor and one ridgeline.

1st reading with both on scale = Gross weight 8780 lbs. (this is good because the max combined gross for the ridgeline is 10088).

2nd reading was the trailmanor = Gross weight 3780 lbs.

3rd reading was just the ridgeline = Gross weight 4820 lbs.

180 lbs registered in the trailer/truck gross weight, could be pertaining to the tongue weight. Anyway I feel pretty good about this, at least I know what I stand weight wise.

Felt so good washed up the trailmanor in and out and put her away till next time.

Thought I would share and it was the best $6.00 I have every spent.

regards

The separate weights of the truck and the TM should equal the weight of them both hooked up. The TM tongue weight should not have anything to do with that.

Is is possible that you weigh around 180 lbs. and was not in the vehicle while weighing just the Ridgeline, but was sitting in the seat during the combination weigh-in ??

Was the trailer's 3780# with the trailer unhitched from the truck and both the tongue and trailer wheels on the scale? IOW the trailer's GVW? Or were just the trailer's wheels on the scale, giving its GAW, gross axle weight?

To get the tongue weight, you need both the trailer's GVW and GAW and then subtract.

You are right.(Ha Ha) I was sitting in the truck when reading on the truck and trailmanor and yes I do weigh about 180. And I wasn't in the truck when it was read, So, that clears up that. ..Thanks I had a smitz'sism..
The reading on the trailmanor is the whole trailer sitting on the scale. Its hard to see but in the pic I raised the hitch on the wheel just off of the ball and took the sway bar and hooks off. So, axle and front wheel sat on the scale and the reading on the trailmanor is the Gross.
brulaz, so I had axle reading of 3240 and a gross of 3780, so this puts the tongue weight at 540lbs.
Appreciate the help, I knew I came to the right place for help.

regards.

I have a 2619 also my recollection is a 3500 rating for the TM. Are you (the trailer) overweight?

Well,
To my understanding 3500 is the axle rating.
I took a pic of the ticket and the 1st axle read 5360 lbs for the ridgeline
2nd axle read 3240 lbs is for the trailmanor axle
3rd reading is Me 180lbs.
Total combined gross weight = 8780 lbs.

The trailmanor sitting on the scale itself read 3780 lbs gross.
So, I am thinking my axle read 3240 lbs.(?)
Maybe I am reading it wrong?.

When I weighed my 2001 2619 it weighed 2720 # (details here http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...34&postcount=9). Mine was pretty empty and you had a lot of stuff in there so I suppose it's possible you were half a ton heavier but it seems like a big difference.

Looks like to me that you have a good handle on the weights. You are under the 3500 TM axle rating, and have a 540 lb. tongue weight.
