My TM axle was 3380 the one time I weighed it. I do not use a WD hitch.

Assume that the tongue weight is 400 pounds. If I had a WD hitch and if I adjusted it to zero out the tongue weight then I just added 200 pounds to the TM axle, for a total of 3580.

I believe I have just overloaded the axle.

My point is that if the TM is loaded very close to the axle rating then it is possible, but perhaps not likely, that the WD hitch will shift enough weight to the TM axle to overload it.

It seems to me that when weighing the rig that to determine the TM axle weight you should be hitched up and ready to tow, including a cinched up WD hitch.
