Default Fun Mod ?

Every time I see a trailer with a fireplace, I say I want that. However, the trailers that have them are always too heavy. I already have two Dimplex electric fireplaces in my home and love them. One is a wall mounted one and I wonder if a smaller one would work in a 2922. Where would you put it and would it draw too much power when the heat is turned on?

A lot of the issue is with the depth -7 to 9 inches. The wall is 3" thick but on the sides the fold modules do not leave any extra so would need to be in the end of a stock coach and the sofa would need to move to the side and telescope.

I've been noodling a bit about a mechanism to add a side slide but is not ready for prime time.

Power is less than for the AC but 4800 btu from 1480 watts is a lot of power for not much heat.

I agree on the efficiency comment of the heater. I also see that there is general interest in doing something clever, so will explore what is possible for the fun of it.

In my case, I have not purchased the TT yet so have some flexibility. So, I am now looking at moving up to the 3124 with the sofa option, not getting the chair, and putting a floor mounted electric fireplace in the corner. I would not turn on the heater and just leave it in simulate fireplace mode. I found this pic that might help position what I am imagining. Where you see the back of the chair is where I could put a corner fireplace. My questions are: Can it stay there when I close up the trailer?

By the way, I like the look of the carpet is this pic? Is that available or a bad idea in the TT?

Carpeting is much warmer to the toes on cold mornings, but if ya have a water leak or spil something then clean up could be an issue. I would rather have linolium and have carpet runners or tiles. That would make it warm, but easier to clean or replace when ya feel like it.

If you are just going for the fireplace look, would a computer monitor be cheaper? Plenty of fireplace screensavers. If you are not using it for heat...

On my 2720 the little step up comes right up to the fridge. Looks like the 3023 adds a cabinet. Suspect TMs use the same folding end pieces/slide and the difference is in the center body.

Love that fireplace Bill, it'll be my next mod fer sure!

I wouldn't recommend carpeting in a trailer. We just took the carpeting out of ours and put in a wood-look vinyl floor. WAY easier to clean.

We use runners all over the place to keep the feet warm. You take the runners outside and shake them out and just sweep the floor. It's great.

I saw the red one in Camping world:

I have seen the red one for as low as $99.00 for those of us who have wonderful imaginations for a fireplace. Note, that both of them are "RV compatible".
