Default Hole on Top Rail

So I washed my TM today and noticed a hole in the top corner cover on the driver's side (front shell). Wondering what it is for, or if I should shoot some caulk in it. Photo attached.

Pretty sure that is a "weep" hole.

Question weep hole?

For what? Not the A/C. That's on the under side of the street side near the front of the A/C unit. What could that possibly be a weep hole for? HOT AIR? For water running off the roof like a down spout? If that's
the case then your roof needs attention (but from the photos that looks hardly likely!).

BradS7535....
I am just guessing, but I think that either the last OWNER had something attached there or maybe they had to replace the radio antenna and used that hole to fish wires....just a guess....if it were me, I'd run the A/C when it got humid and see if anything comes out...if it didn't, I would fill that puppy up with some rigid spray in expanding foam and then put a piece of "Eternibond" tape over that to seal it up right.

Brad you might call the last OWNER/dealer and ask them about it first. Usually the name and address of the last OWNER is on the title. When you find out, would you please let us all know. Thanks

Tom

ps. congratulations Brad on becoming a new OWNER of a Trailmanor...and welcome to the OWNERS forum... the best $12 you can spend for the very BEST Travel Trailer...and unlike any other travel trailer on the market new or used, will save you lots of gas $$$$$...no other nice and roomy travel trailer can do that!

Mine has a weep hole also, unless a previous owner was traveling all over following TM's it is standard on many models over some years!
It has been discussed on here over the years too.....try searching weep holes!
You will find a pic from 2011 post, no Tom it is not for HOT AIR

Just checked mine and I too have this. In fact you probably have one on both sides of your TM in the same place. On mine one is just left of the awning.

Correct, and as BaileysMom noted you should have more than one.

Thanks for all the replies. It looked a little too perfect of a hole to be there on accident. I'll leave it be.

I have that too, But it looked as if a screw was in mine or made the holes. I have them on each side. However I did fill them with caulking, I guess I better de caulk those holes. Living in Arizona, I dont really need to worry about a weep hole unless I leave the state and that we do often. time to dig out the caulking.

Thanks Brad for bringing it up!

OK Mr Trailmanorman....tell us...what exactly is the function of this "weep" hole and what does it "weep"?

The funny thing is, my 2003 3124KS does NOT have these "Weep" holes on either side. Can anyone tell me why some have them while others do not. Now if you read my posting I did NOT say to fill them in immediately. I said I would contact the last OWNER to see if they could shed some light onto the subject.

MY QUOTE
"Brad you might call the last OWNER/dealer and ask them about it first."

Maybe someone should contact the factory and see what they are for. Has anyone ever seen anything come out of these holes? Were they just something left over from the manufacturing process? Who on here knows for sure. Do you Mr Trailmanorman? These holes would look tempting to a mud dobber I suspect.

So Craigrrr...has filling these in reduced the performance of your TM? Has this caused any deterioration of the walls of your TM in any way?

Either way I would say the jury is still out on this until we get an explanation from the factory. However...it's your TM and so you should do or not do whatever you wish with it. They are a curious thing though. Any clues Bill?

Mr. Tom ....he who dictates what people MUST do without question or suffer the maximum concequences! ( now for all of those who don't know any better this last statement IS a joke and I have to explain this or someone will take it the WRONG way!! OK...got it? )
