Default Pd4655 Upgrade Question

I’m in the process of switching out my power converter from the wfco 8955 to the pd4655. I noticed that the power wires were 10awg on the pd4655 as opposed to the 8awg on the wfco.
This got me thinking about the run to the batteries which seems to be 12awg. It seems like any benefit I get from the new converter actually working in boost mode and driving larger current into the battery will get used up by IR drop in the 20ft run to the batteries. (3124kb, batts on the front)
Am I missing something here or do I have to upsize the wire to the batts?
thanks,
bruce
