Fridge Fan not working

Hello all,

First I want to say thanks to all of you who have contributed over the years. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge and is helping me get my trailmanor in tip top shape before a 5 week camping adventure with my kiddos. That being said, after getting my fridge to operate off propane (thanks to the advice on crimping the wires) I realized my fridge fan is no longer operating. I know that it was working when I bought the camper. Any thoughts? I did a search but couldn't find anything on past threads. Thanks in advance!

The wires could be pinched at the floor under the aluminum that the duct connects to. Or the switch could be bad or your not getting power to the fan for some reason. Get a volt meter and start measuring at the switch, it's a common power buss so should be ok if everything else on the monitor panel works.

Ours did that shortly after we got it home. I checked the wiring and it had power, but it wouldn't run.

After closer inspection I found that someone at the factory had been over zealous with the caulking gun and a chunk of clear silicone caulk had broken away from someplace and bounced down into the fan blades.

All I had to do was remove it and voila!

So, do check power, but also make sure that there is nothing in the blades.

Where is the fan located? I took off both of the exterior covers and didn't see it. Thanks

Lay on your back, with your head under the trailer (outside) at where the outside access grills are for the fridge. Now look up (at the bottom side of the camperj. There are likely two round cutouts in the floor. One has the fan.

I recently replaced the fan. It was labeled as a 12VDC .25A. I replaced it with the same spec fan, but it has burned out. I am getting 12V to the fan, the switch is working fine. Any ideas on why it burned out in just 1 over night use?

Are you plugged into shore power or just running off the battery? Are you sure you are running JUST 12 volts from the converter. Check one of the light sockets with a volt meter and see what you get. If it's more than 12 volts ( while plugged into shore power) your converter/charger could have gone south. If you are showing just 12 volts everywhere then it's ok and I can only guess that you got a bad fan motor. At any rate, if it were me, I would replace that fan with a bigger and heavier duty one rated at a higher amperage. I might just do that anyways on my TM. Seems like all that I have read on this subject points to installing a bigger better fan to suck out more hot air (which it is my understanding that this will make the fridge more efficient ). Does anyone know how many cubic feet of air the stock fan moves?

The label on mine shows: 12VDC, 0.58A fan.

I bought a new fan today, 12VDC, .07A. It's been running all day in 100deg weather. I also put a .25A fuse on it. I'm buying computer case fans.
