Actually, not all "outhouses" are vault toilets. In Colorado, there are some that are somewhat water free and and use wood chips and bacteria to break down the sewage. These specifically request not dumping your cassette, etc in them. Also, it's easy to dump your cassette (or tote) in a dump station as well.

We are debating a tote as well. Water weighs 8.3 lbs per gallon, so totes get real heavy really fast. Size depends a lot on how much you can pull around and possibly lift. I'm small and DW is smaller so we aren't considering anything over 10 gallons. That will handle a complete dump of our toilet. I would rather make two trips than blow out my back.

Trailmanorman,

You mentioned "the cassette is an option on 2014 TM and soon to be on mine".
Are you trading up, or contemplating a modification to your current TM? Only our 3rd time camping with this recirculating toilet thing, and I'm wondering if I can get a conversion to the cassette done somewhere!

Default Trailmanorman

I thought I read that you might be installing a cassett and wondered if you found a source for the cassette purchase and have you started the install yet? Just wanted to keep track as this is my choice over all other options. I like the idea of not hauling anything thru the trailer, but opening the door on the outside and removing the black tank from the outside.

I ordered and will do the install myself. Factory ( Ed) has not done a retrofit,he
can't sell direct and advised me to contact dealers.Ed was great , I did with NO response! Three so called dealers and NO response, probably busy selling new units
Even the great one out your way ignored me ! So I ordered elsewhere and will install myself. Great service from TM dealers as usual
These are standard in most British "Caravans"

Any RV dealer for Thetfort can supply with inventory in Europe UPS in 10 days, mine is on the way

Default Thanks TM Man

I will keep my eye out for the project when you install the cassette. I know cutting a hole in the side of the TM will be my biggest issue, not knowing if there is anything running along that area and such.
