Face lift??

Earlier this summer my dh and I purchased a 1990 2300 which in my understanding is the same as the current 2720 model. We love our camper. We haven't been caming yet. . . we're still in the gathering information and supplies stage. I just found this forum today and am so engrossed with the information that my one and two year old boys are running amuck in my living room! I have been searching for information on renovating or redoing surfaces both exterior surfaces and interior surfaces and am coming up with very little information. I sew some and am already planning to reupholster the dinette cushions and redo the window coverings. My MIL has offered help in that area, but for the hard surfaces I'm kind of stumped.
Have any of you with older models painted the interior or exterior of your TM? If so what products did you use? How was the process? What lessons did you learn? Basically HELP! I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
