Quite right.
"Progressive" aka "time delay" or "ramp time" or similar.

Default Brake Controller Installation

Howdy Everybody! I have a 2007 Sierra 1500 extended cab with a factory hitch and towing package. It has a 7 pin plug but no brake controller and the battery charging circuit needs to be energized. Is it better to have a GMC dealer install the controller and hook up the charging circuit or the TM dealer? Thanks in advance.

Most these are plug in yourself set ups but if you not comfortable with it your RV dealer is likely to have a better selection. You will need #10 gauge wire as a minimum for the battery charge line. This may already be in your vehicle and wired to the 7 pin connector.

Gmc Sierra's come from the factory with the charging circuit intact except for the 40A maxifuse which is missing. There will be a red dummy plug in it's place in the fusebox under the hood. Easily, owner installable.

As a general rule. The TM dealer should have no problem installing the controller and making sure it works properly with a TM.

Default Controller Question

Thanks Everyone! I think I read about the fuse in my owners manual.

I have a 2006 Silverado which has a factory plug for the brake controller in the main wiring harness connector box, next to the steering column.

The 2007 does not have the factory plug but it does have a brake controller wire harness bundle under the dash, near the steering column. The wires are color coded the same as the wires that come with the new brake controller. I highly recommend the Prodigy. All you have to do is splice the wires together with the same color wires that come with the brake controller. So easy......a cave man can do it.......

Check out this video......the '09 is the same as your '07.

The others are correct about just installing the fuse for the charging circuit.

I picked up a Prod. P3 at campingworld when they were having a "sale" that included free install. I have a F150 and the wiring was already in place under the steering colum
