Default Screen Door Mod.

I've seen a couple of mods for placing a screen door on a TM, more are for the upper "dutch" door half, essentially creating a "window frame" for that space, and that solutions looks simple enough and effective.

My Q is has anyone tried using one of those magnetic screen doors? With a little alteration I think it might be a good and inexpensive alternative.

Thoughts?

I tried one of these screens and found it not as useful as I had hoped. The door is not wide enough for the screen to fit well enough. The sides have to be secured as does the top above the window. Lots of velcro, a fair amount of frustration and it didn't sit against the frame of the shell.
It seemed like a good idea, but it really didn't pan out like I had hoped. Hope this answers some of you questions.
The attached pdf, will probably open sideways, but it wouldn't load as a .heic type of pic.

Thanks for the info! I hoped someone had tried it... (I can't be the first one who thought of it.)

Looks like I'll be making the DIY window screen method.

Thanks again.

Bumping this thread, because it’s mosquito season, haha.

Just orders one of these and wondering if anyone else has done this successfully.

I’m wondering why you cut it in half though, was that for the gap along the bottom of the door?

I attempted this mod a few years back. Its wide, you’ll have to cut it down so it fits. I tried leaving it, but that didn’t work well. I also tried velcro strips, not the best either. Then I tried using a thin 1 inch wide metal strip attached above the window. Using magnets to hold it in place. Nothing work well enough. I wish ya’ll luck and would love to see pics once you get it installed.
