Default Pantry in Wardrobe

Another mod almost done
On our first trip we had 5 days camping and food for 5 days. After hanging up our jacket in the wardrobe I decided to put our canned and dry food in the wardrobe on the left side. I knew I wanted to build shelves on the left side as soon as I had food put in there.
1. I built a "ladder" for the back wall that sits on the wardrobe shelf and a front "ladder" that goes from wardrobe ceiling to bottom. I attached the back "ladder" at the back left corner with screws. See pic 1 and 2.
2. I had to notch the back of both legs to go over the 1/4 round on the back "ladder". See pic 3
3. I put 3 cross bars on both "ladders" and measured them to be level across from each other. I notched and installed the 3 shelves making sure the back and front "ladders" were tight to the walls and each shelf has 2 screws on the cross bars. See pic 4.
4. I also put one screw in the front left corner for support as the front had parts built on the wardrobe so you cannot put it against the wall. see pic 5.
4. I added 1/4 plywood to the floor in the shelf area only for extra support for heavier items like cans. See pic 6.
Note: I built the top of the ladders to be on the right side of the ceiling center board in the wardrobe.

I still have to sand and stain the wood, but almost done.

I lowered the wardrobe to the floor and the added shelves don't add that much weight and was no problem for me to fold down and back up.

For me this is a good storage solution when camping and I can still store our bed pillows in the wardrobe when folding the trailer which is where they go now because they are light and no problem folding the wardrobe down.

Looks very nice. When you put down the wardrobe, do you travel with the stuff in the pantry?

I am going to load some light weight dry cereal, crackers, bread, buns, etc and see how heavy it is and make sure I don't overload the wardrobe and then I am going to travel with the "stuff" loaded to give it a try. Won't be for a week or two before we can go camping again, so I'll post how everything travels. I like the idea of loading as much as I can in the trailer without over doing it.
