Default NM closes state parks camp grounds

A few days ago I got a notice that NM was closing overnight camping because of the virus. Not sure camping is a high risk, much lower then going to the store.

Hope this is not going o be a trend by the states.

I wouldn't go out of state. If our trailer were ready I'd take it to a campsite a couple of hours away, but going stateside for us would be out of the question. I think I heard trump talking about limiting travel too.

It took one infected worker in a care home to infect a whole pile of elderly in one of our local care homes. Today 3 of them died. A couple of them died last week. I just heard that a teacher in one of our local schools tested positive for the virus. This teacher may have caught it from a student who had mild or no symptoms.

I know the vast majority of the cases are mild. That seems to be not the case with the elderly however.

What is a serious overreaction around here is hoarding. Buyers are clearing the shelves of toilet paper, frozen veggies, etc. But get this ultimate irony: as paranoid as people are, grabbing whatever frozen vegetables they can get their hands on during this apocalypse, they draw the line at Brussels Sprouts. Lots of those left!

All of the California State Parks campgrounds are closed. They've also closed off all of the parking lots to the local beaches here. We like to walk around Manresa Campground, if you see a couple of people there it's a miracle at this time of the year. There aren't many people walking on the beach, either. It's probably one of the safest places you can walk around, but off limits now.

Most of the state we camp at have now closed the CG's. So It looks like my reservations for april and may are not going to happen. I'm wonder if my June and July reservations will also be closed.

Texas I LIKE: I like what TX is doing for there campgrounds. Pay online, Pre-check in and print out your passes, restrooms and shoulders will be closed. I'm thinking that a low risk, much lower then going to the store.
