Default Only have 3 drain valves

All the posts on winterizing say to open all 4 drain under the trailer. My problem is one of the hoses that hangs down in front of the tire does not have a valve on it. It has a plug that is secured with a clamp. I have opened all the other drains. This a 2022 TM. Since all the post seem to be quite old, has TM made a change on the new models ?

Do you have a picture? It should be drain valves.

The plumbing diagram at
https://www.trailmanorowners.com/for...&pictureid=435
was made almost 20 years ago, and has stood the test of time. My 2020 TM has 4 drain valves. While I can't guarantee that nothing has changed for 2022 (I think no one can except the factory - did you ask them?), I'm not sure why there would be a change. Can you open the cupboard and see where the plugged pipe goes? I suppose it is possible that TM developed a new way to drain the fresh water tank, but you should be able to see it.

If your TM was purchased used and not new, it’s certainly possible the fourth valve was damaged or leaking and prior owner fixed it with a plug and clamp. Is that one flexible hose (freshwater tank) or rigid (hot water heater)?

In any event, I’d just treat it like a valve for drainage and simply remove the clamp and plug for the winter.

If you purchased new, and it’s rigid, maybe TM decided to do this for the hot water tank, so that users didn’t accidentally burn out the heating element on a drained and empty tank. I’d still treat it as a winterizing drain and open it for the winter.

Some of the SL units only had three drains since the water tank and pump were right next to the water heater and sink.

I did not know this -- mine were literally next to each other, tanks basically touching with the drains both coming through the same hole in the floor -- but the freshwater tank drain was still separate from the hot water tank drain. Not at all sure what the benefit would be to tie them together -- you'd think the mixing of the hot with cold would not be desirable, likewise the mixing of high-pressure and low-pressure sides would (I'd think) cause a problem. You'd need to add a one-way valve to fix that issue (at a minimum) as well as extra internal tubing to remove one valve on the outside, and at that point I'd think any potential $$ savings would be lost.
