And then it says to tighten or loosen the nuts one thread at a time to fine tune the tension & weight distribution…

I have a 2020 Ford ranger and a 2922 and it sways really badly as you get close to 70 MPH. As I traveled all summer and fall it was the same. 65 MPG was great but pushing it to 70 caused sway almost every time. I love the trailer but you should not say sway bars are not needed.

You may have too little weight on the tongue. Do you have a bike rack or something on the rear of your TM. You should not be swaying @ 70mph. That's a very dangerous situation that can get out of control in a heart beat.

no bike rack or anything on the back. Not sure how to add more weight to the Tongue.

You might try inflating your tires a bit more. Tires have a maximum pressure rating listed on the sidewall, often something like 44 psi. But today, most vehicle manufacturers want to emphasize a soft "comfy" ride, and tires are often inflated only to something like 35 psi.

Over the years, I have towed 3 different TMs with 3 different Ford tow vehicles. In every case, with the tires at 35 psi, the truck felt just a bit "squirrely" as I was towing. This was not sway by any means, and I never felt it was dangerous - but it was kind of uncomfortable. In every case, I found that bringing the cold tire pressure up from 35 to 40 psi eliminated the squirrely feeling, leaving a rock-solid towing feel.

Stiffer tires could help the situation. It is an easy thing to try.

We have a 2922KS pulled by a Chev Colorado. We use an Anderson hitch. We no longer mount 2 bicycles on the back of the trailer, I think it adds some weight shift. We usually drive at 65pmh, sometimes 70. There is usually no sway induced from trucks coming up behind. We DID have sway events at 65mph. Not fun. Wasn't windy, seemed to be big truck induced or while passing. Shane suggested our chains may have been set too tight. [I wish there was a torque setting to adjust but I don't know one.] So now I tighten up pretty tight and then back off a turn. I measure/match the bumper height before and after connecting. Trailer tire pressure has always been 60psig, it reaches 65psig on the road. Truck is a bit higher than the 35psig recommended - 38psig once you get on the road. We always travel with fresh tank empty. Battery is in the back, in locker.

Thanks for the info I purchased the Andersen hitch and it should be here Friday. Couple of questions on the install. I have the swing hitch but that should not be an issue. However on my 2022 trailer they have the safety chains connected in the area of 28" from the front of the hitch which is where the bars should go. On the left side they also have the break away switch mounted in that same area. Dd you have to reposition these items or was that not an issue?

The safety cables were not an issue on my trailer but it has been on some other's. The placement of those fittings on our TMs seems to be somewhat random. I did move my breakaway switch. That was super EZ. Just be sure the the cable has a fairly clear run to the truck.

It would not hurt to move the cables if they're in your way.

I already took the cables and break away switch off. So they will be moved. Since on my TM the safety cables were held on by 4: bolts that went all the way though the frame should I fill the old holes with clear silicone, to keep water out of the frame? do I need to drill all the way through the frame again or I I just use a 3/4" screw on the safety chains.
