saga of Rocky gap
This was a working campout. BEAUTIFUL CAMPGROUND. Wonderful time of the year with colorful folage.
Changed the toilet to the Curve with the help of my friend who went home yesterday.
put blinds in the 24 inch windows, until I was cutting 2 sided tape, the box cutter slipped and got a finger....I wrapped it in paper towel so I could finish the blind I was working on. Found a bandaide. Decided the last blind would have to wait until next trip. Used the $3.78 vinyl blinds. AND I AM NOT A PERFECTIONIST.
went to empty the Curve, princess grace here found a large root...that holding tank is very sturdy, cannot say as much for me...
found a spring for one of the spring latches, but it was too long, the nice man at TSC felt pity for me and cut the spring down, that was before my tumble...so closed the trailer totally by myself. That broken spring? I got the pin to the clamp but no cigar...got the broom out of the truck and got the pin to the clamp, held it down with one arm and moved the clamp and the pin went in YAY!!! The front stablizers not do easy, got back out the silicone spray, sprayed it down good, again...still would not go all the way up...got out the handy dandy pliers and wedged it up, then it snapped in.
awning working well now...JB Weld is a wonderful thing...
note to self...when instructions say to sacrifice a small bird, next time get that bucket of chicken, things just might go smoother...walmart pizzas are not all that good.

Quite the ordeal! But, you were camping and I was working. You still had a better few days.
Regarding the scissor jacks - when you lubricate them, in addition to putting lube on the screw, also lube the pivots for the arms (at the base, and also near the connection to the frame). I kept putting lube on the screw shaft, but not much improvement. When I got the other points lubricated, the jacks moved much easier.
Hopefully, your next outing will be better, and more relaxing.

I wish I had scissor jacks, that is a mod in the future. I have the old style hacks that drop down. The leg that comes down would not go all the way up so it would snap in for travel. The frame of the old gal has zero clearance if the part that touches the ground is not all the way in. And yes I was camping, had 2 wonderful dinners with my grandaughter too, who goes to College in Frostburg. Never went in the Casino this trip, Dennys and Sheetz had internet.
the strip heat works great. Jon replaced the AC with one that has heat too. It is the cabinet AC.
Hubby sure was glad to see me, he had eatten about everything I had cooked ahead for him. Me, I did not cook at all, unless you call yogurt and ham sandwiches cooking...my kind of campout.
still got to winterize, have to find the air valve, got about 3, but they are so small. Got to pop up for that, just the front shell. The old gal has everything hidden.
the awning works good, the plastic piece on the camper side that hols the rafter broke completely off, but with the ledge on the camper side and on the rail, just made due it was tight in both ledges...old crunchy plastic.
had a great site, pull thru. A ravine behind me. Coyotes at night, ranger tried to tell me they were on the mountain across the ravine...I beg to differ, I think they were in the ravine.
10/11 was my BD and it was also the first official day of leaf peap in in Maryland.
had a beautiful drive last Sunday...Friday going home, not do great, late start, had obsessed all night about tearing down completely by myself and my cut fingertip. But all went pretty good, except for the tripping and the stablizer.

Could you tell us the make and model of the side cabinet AC that Jon put in for you? I like to keep up on this in case mine suddenly dies.

Jon was actually the previous owner, AKA Volvofan, he was living in the TM during the week at Ft. Drum NY and had LOTS of heat sources.
The AC is an LG Model LW7014HR
it has a remote control, which is OK especially when it sits as low as it does.
He also had one of those oil filled radiator heaters, that now lives in my shed, as well as all that skirting he installed. He also left one of those little electric heaters. And I have a heated mattress pad in the camper, I pulled out of the Bantam when I sold it, and 4 zero degree sleeping bags (NOT in the camper).
I wish the fridge was like my fridge in the Cabin A, just set it and forget it. It has an automatic setting that automatically choses the most economical setting. The one in the TM.. I have to get on the floor to see what source it is and click the 2 buttons to light the pilot... That is another project for another day.
AAc couple of the nights I got up and turned it off, most likely NOT tonight if I was still there, supposed to get into the 30's there and here.

Thanks very much for the info. I have already replaced it once, also with an LG unit, but the one I used is no longer available.
However, this one is only 7000 BTU, which is close to the original TM unit. I replaced it with a 10000 BTU unit, which does a better job in Texas heat and humidity.

Nice thing about the 7000 is it can run on standard household current with a heavy duty extension cord...suprize, Jon left 2 of those with the camper. One is in the shed, to help eliminate some weight. It is one heavy cord.
We have humidity here. Heat too, but probably not as hot as TX.
