Default Looking at a TM 3023 (2004)

Dealer asking $8900 for a 2004 TM 3023. Is this a fair price.
It seems to be in good shape, and he will certify that everything
is working condition.
Thanks,
Jimmy B.

Might be a bit high, depending on where you are (west coast is higher, southeast is lower). NADAGuides is not magic, but is better than any other commercial site I know. Better still is collecting a bunch of SOLD (as opposed to FOR SALE) data for your area, but this is time-consuming at best. Assuming it has an air conditioner and awning - the only expensive options - NADA says you might think about $7800.

Of course, you should ask how long the "guaranteed working" certification lasts. If you take it home, and then go camping in two weeks and discover that the refrig (for example) doesn't work, what is your recourse? Did the certification expire when you drove off the lot?

Finally, as others will tell you, you should ask how old the battery is (a relatively minor item), and how old the tires are (don't take the dealer's word for it - look for the DOT code on the tire, and insist on 3 years or less).

BTW, this should be a great model, and is new enough not to present the problems that we sometimes hear about here. Good luck!

Seems reasonable. I never pay asking price for vehicles of any type.

Bill, Thanks for the very informative reply to my question. will the date of the tire be on it? I'm not familiar with the code you speak of. Everything looked good and they will go through it like cleaning the inside and out, couches, awning. They load test the battery. I did notice a tear on the bed slide seal. Is that something I should be worried about?
Thanks again for your help.

I'd make an offer of $7900-a grand off, considering what others have sold for.
It is about to be another model year older and the dealer should want to move it. If you are polite, you have nothing to lose...
Good luck.

PS what area of the country r u from?

We paid $8,900 for our 1997 2720 in 2003. It was in pristine condition, barely used, like new except for a a really small scrape/dent on the exterior.

The nada book is based on percentage calculations, not actual sales. Therefore, it's just a ballpark number.

The most important point is that these trailers have been holding up really well, and are still looking good and providing great service after many years of use.
