In the front we couldn't fit it behind the bed support. Hope it's different in the back!

From what I've read here, the D&S screen is great, but no longer available. Does anybody who has one have specifications, or could you list the specifications and attach some pictures of the screen and how it attaches? I've hunted around the site, and the best pics i found were the ones of it stored on the back of a TM, but nothing with it loose, or mounted on the door. Seems like a great idea, and a worthwhile project to either build one, or take to the local screen shop to have at least the frame made. Thanks in advance!

Question screen doors

Read all the posts on this subject. Sorry to hear that D & S no longer makes the door you are talking about. This is one thing I would love to add to our TM. Has anyone found any other screen doors out there? Would love a suggestion.

There have recently been some alternate suggestions on this forum. Maybe a search of "screen door" or something similar will get you the info you are looking for. Good luck...the way things are going I suspect that our current D&S screen door might just be valuable when we need to bolster our retirement funds!

Thumbs up Screen Door

Hi Scott,
Would You be so kind as to post a few pictures of the screen attached in the open and closed positions! I am very curious as to how it works!

Thanks,

Don't have pictures, but here's a description of how it works:

The D&S Screen used toggle clamps to hold the screen to the door.

The top, bottom and two sides were a standard heavy-duty screen frame.

The bottom frame was reinforced with a flat aluminum plate going the width of the frame and maybe 2.5 -3" high from the bottom. The toggle clamps were attached to the bottom plate with the rectangular slots pointing down.

The toggle clamps are similar to these

There was a threaded bolt that was welded to a small square plate on one side. The threaded side had a couple of nuts and washers with bent tabs to hold it into the retangular slot on the toggle clamp.

When you toggled the clamp, the square plate from the threaded clamp would apply pressure to the bottom half of the TM door.

I'd be happy to post some pictures, but the TM will probably be in the garage until the end of July. Anyone else be able to do the job?

I have been trying to figure out exactly how this door is made also. If anyone could post some pictures of how the clamping works I would really appreciate it.
