Wood under the bathroom floor

"What kind of damage this may cause, my guess water damage and possible long term dry rot to any wood in and around shower base. Hope to never find out."
There is a 3/8" sheet of plywood under the tile in the bath and the tub wall is made of wood. You can see it in this pic of my replacement toilet flange.
I had a flood in the bathroom about a year ago but there is no sign of it now.
