My Truma on demand hot water heater is now installed

That is what the 25 feet of 8 awg is for with our portable panels, just a long jack

To complete my comments on the Truma. I can now report that it works like taking a shower at home. You really do have endless (until your propane runs out) hot water and the temperature does not fluctuate at all once you set it right for what you want.

I do understand that you would not want to take long showers dry camping but it heats water so fast that the propane usage has to be significantly less than a standard hot water heater if used for the same time. My water gets hot from a cold start in about 10 seconds. I remember waiting for over 30 minutes in a class C RV I had for my water to get hot in a standard hot water heater.
