Jim:

All I'm suggesting is be darn sure that's where the leak is before you use the JB Weld. Once you put that stuff on, it'll take one of my nucs to get it off. If the leak is at a connection, I'd take it apart first and try teflon tape. If it's a line, I'd try replacing the line. If it's at a slide on connection, I'd try a new clamp. The last item out of my bag of tricks would be that tube of JB Weld.

Ed, sounds good to me. All I was suggesting is that you add the J B Weld to the "bag of tricks."

Just a note of good news. I used JB Weld because it looked like a very small crack in the stem under the threads of the fixture. It worked very well. No more leak.

Thanks for the simple and cheap fix idea.

Rudy -

Thanks for letting us know how it worked out. Too often, these very interesting threads become dead ends, because the problem is solved but the original poster, relieved of the burden, goes on to other things and doesn't think to share his solution.

Thanks again

Bill

I retract my cautionary note on JB Weld -- what the hey -- if it works, go with it. There's a tube in my travel kit.
