At least for me, any additional weight on the slide makes it harder to open. Another PBI.

The battery is under the sofa in our '13 2922KS. As the slide is electric, the extra weight is a non-issue, (except when the switch was broken and we had to open and close manually....).
I suppose that on advantage of this location is that the battery can be lifted out of the box more easily (standing up, using the legs, rather than lifting while in a bent-over position). However, can see that easier access to the battery would be nice at times.

Yep, on the slide-out. I'm going on a trip to Davis Mountains in Sep, so I'm going to have to figure out how to get it open so I can check water in battery cells (since I haven't done that, yet).

On my 2014 2417, the battery location is under the dinette bench, in my slide. My electric motor does not like to open the slide with the second battery and the cabinet and chest on the slide. If I move the cabinet and the chest off the slide, it opens with no assist.

Any way to get under the slide to make sure the wheels are not binding? Have not tried to lift slide, yet, but will one of these weekends.

LTC, my slide-out works fine, but I haven't tried getting into battery before. Glad you mentioned what you did about slide with two batteries, because I had been thinking about adding a second one and hadn't considered impact of additional weight on the slide. My post was really to confirm to Bill that yes indeed the battery on my TM was really located under the sofa on the slide-out.
